We require more information from you

To continue to investigate your credit report query or correction request, we require more information or documentation from you.

You will need to provide details of any correction requested. Please include:

  • The matter number(s) you received in your email
  • Details of the entry being queried, including any account reference numbers and the name of the credit provider who listed it
  • The reason for querying the entry
  • Any documentation that supports the query, in line with the type of item you are querying
Type of Dispute Required Information
Accounts Proof of closure; or
Proof of payment; or
Any other supporting documentation such as a letter from the Credit Provider
Enquiries Police report; or
Letter from Credit Provider
Defaults Proof of payment:
Letter from Credit Provider with account or reference number, balance, amount paid, date paid
Judgements / Summons Notice of discontinuance; or
Notice of dismissal; or
Notice of payment; or
Judgement order; or
Set aside order
Personal insolvency or bankruptcies Discharge notice; or
Notification or letter from ITS

The more information you can provide the quicker we can investigate.
Please note that information that you supply to us for the purpose of a correction request, including your personal information, may need to be disclosed to other parties (such as the credit provider) in order to investigate and respond to your correction request. What will happen next?
On receipt of the additional information illion will finalise its review and advise you of the outcome.

If the additional information is not supplied it may be the case that any change you have requested cannot be made and the information on your credit report will remain.

How does the corrections process work?

  1. You sent a request to change your credit report.
  2. If all supporting information is provided it could be as simple as us making the necessary amendment e.g. updating a default to ‘paid’ or deleting a judgment.
  3. illion contacts the credit provider.If necessary we will contact the credit provider on your behalf to have them verify the accuracy, or otherwise, of the correction request.
  4. illion reviews the credit provider’s response.illion will then review the information given by the credit provider and make amendments, if any, to the entry/entries on your credit report.
  5. illion finalises the review.We will notify you in writing what the result of our review is. If a correction is required, illion will send you a letter notifying you that the correction has been made and provide you with a copy of the corrected information.illion may provide previous enquirers of your credit report (within the past three months or between the time the error was made and the date of the query request) with notification of the correction.If a correction is not made, illion will write to you setting out in detail the outcome of its review and why the requested correction(s) has not been made. You have the right to request that there be attached to the disputed information a statement of the correction sought but not made and you can make a complaint in accordance with our Complaints Handling Procedure.
